The high level of air pollution caused by motor vehicle emissions, where NO₂ is one of the main pollutants, has the potential to reduce lung function and cause various health problems. This study aims to assess the health effects of NO₂ exposure at three gas stations in Ogan Ilir Regency on lung function in workers and traders. There are two methods used, namely, the Environmental Health Risk Analysis study method (ARKL) with a deterministic approach system, and the Environmental Health Epidemiology method (EKL) with a Cross-Sectional approach system. The tool used for measuring NO₂ concentration is the Impinger Air Sampler, while lung function measurements are made using spirometry. The sample used amounted to 73 respondents, namely, 62 officers and 11 traders using the total sampling method. The results showed that the average NO2 concentration was 34.05 µg / nm³, still below the safe threshold. Analysis of the non-carcinogenic intake rate (Intake) due to NO₂ exposure shows a value of 0.004 mg/kg/day, with a risk level showing a NO₂ exposure value of 0.12 or Risk Quotient (RQ) < 1. The results of lung function measurements showed that 68 (93.2%) respondents had impaired lung function and as many as 5 (6.8%) respondents with normal lung function. Statistical tests showed that Body Mass Index (BMI), the relationship between length, frequency, duration of exposure, smoking habits, history of disease, and history of allergies with a p-value> 0.05. The conclusion of this study shows that although the NO2 concentration is in the safe category and the results of pulmonary function disorders in the high category do not have a significant relationship to pulmonary function disorders. Based on these results, suggestions for managers, officers, and traders to use masks and improve a good environmental management system.
