The uncertainty of the procedures for storing Notary Protocols and various obstacles and problems in conventional storage systems gives rise to the urgency of digitalization arrangements in order to create legal certainty. This study used normative legal methods to analyze the urgency of digitizing the storage of the Notary Protocol in Indonesia and formulating an ideal arrangement. The results of the study show that the conventional storage system faces obstacles such as limited space due to the accumulated bundles of Notary Protocols, difficulty in accessibility to deed minutes, vulnerability to disasters, and suboptimal supervision by the Regional Supervisory Council (RSC). In addition, a legal void was found in the procedures for storing the Notary Protocol so that the digitization regulations became an urgent need. The digitization of the Notary Protocol storage is important to ensure the sustainability, security, and accessibility of documents in the long term. Legal arrangements whose norm formulation includes legal society, legal subjects, rights and obligations, legal relationships, legal events, and legal objects, as well as technical arrangements based on the digital storage (cloud storage). Therefore, the Notary should keep up with the times so that it does not become an obsolete position. This study recommends that the government be the initiator in regulating the digitization of the storage of the Notary Protocol in Indonesia, starting from the harmonization of existing regulations to support administrative efficiency and legal certainty. If later this regulation is outlined in a Government Regulation (PP) and urgent, it can be made through a Ministerial Regulation (PerMen) along with the harmonization with the Notary Position Law which currently still regulates the storage of Notary Protocols conventionally.
