STRATEGI BERTAHAN HIDUP PETANI KARET DALAM MEMENUHI KEBUTUHAN HIDUP KELUARGA PASCA PENURUNAN HARGA KARET DI DESA MULYA AGUNG KECAMATAN BANYUASIN III
Survival strategy is a person's activity in making efforts to deal with problems that come into their lives. Survival strategy can be an option for farmers to survive in the face of falling rubber prices in Mulya Agung Village, Banyuasin III District. This study aims to understand the strategies used by farmers in meeting family needs and understanding the forms of obstacles and solutions of farmers in survival strategies. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative method and uses a case study research strategy. This study uses Suharto's survival strategy theory. The results of this study indicate that farmers' survival strategies in the face of falling rubber prices are divided into three, namely active strategies, passive strategies, and network strategies. Where active strategies can be: maximizing the potential of family members and looking for side jobs. Passive strategies include: reducing family expenses and using savings. Network strategies include: taking out cash and non-cash loans and utilizing government assistance. The forms of obstacles that occur are poverty, unemployment and social inequality. The solution from farmers is to survive by asking for help from relatives, being grateful for what happened, and hoping for assistance from the government.
