Degenerative diseases, including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), are becoming an increasing health concern in Indonesia. One of the key factors influencing the nutritional status of CKD patients is adequate energy and protein intake. This study aims to analyze the relationship between energy and protein intake and the nutritional status of CKD patients on hemodialysis at Ministry of Health Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 66 CKD patients on hemodialysis, selected through purposive sampling. The results indicated that the majority of respondents had a normal nutritional status (66,7%), while most had inadequate energy (72.7%) and protein intake (63.6%). Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between energy intake and the nutritional status of CKD patients (p < 0.05) and there is no significant relationship between protein intake and the nutritional status of CKD patients (p > 0.05). In conclusion, there is a significant association between energy intake and the nutritional status of CKD patients on hemodialysis and there is no significant relationship between protein intake and the nutritional status of CKD patients.
