SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIS LAMINASI BAMBU APUS (Gigantochloa apus) MENGGUNAKAN TIGA POLA
The objective of the research was to determine the physical and mechanical characteristics of Apus Bamboo (Gigantochloa apus) laminating with three pattem arrangements. The research was done in Technology and Science Business Application Center Workshop and in PT. Indonesia Fiberboard Industri from April to October 2013. The research used descriptive method the results were presented in from of tables and graphs. There were three laminating pattem arrangements, namely pattem 1 : vertical, horizontal, vertical, horizontal. Pattem 2: vertical, diagonal (45°), horizontal, diagonal (135°). Pattem 3 : horizontal, diagonal (135°), diagonal (45°), horizontal. The observed parameters were water content, hygrocopic characteristics, thickness swelling, modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture. The results showed that the best mechanical characteristics was found on Pattem 2 using the vertical, diagonal (45°), horizontal, diagonal (135°) pattem. The average values on pattem 2 for modulus of elasticity was 7.860 N/mm2 and modulus of rupture was 82 N/mm2, respectively.
