FORMULASI BIOINSEKTISIDA CAIR DAN UJI EFIKASI PADA UMUR SIMPAN SATU BULAN TERHADAP LARVA Spodoptera frugiperda
Fall armywarm (FAW) can reduce the production and quality of maize so that research was needed on how the effect of liquid bioinsecticide formulations with a month-shelf-life on Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) larvae. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of a month-shelf-life of liquid bioinsecticide formulations on S. frugiperda larvae. The fungi used were Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, and Penicillium citrinum. The application of liquid bioinsecticides to S. frugiperda larvae was conducted used the topical application, by dripping the liquid bioinsecticide suspension on 50 first instar S. frugiperda larvae. The results showed that the highest mortality was found in P. citrinum JaTpOi(2) isolate. The highest larvae weight was found in the control treatment which reached 104.62 mg, while the lowest larvae weight was found in the JaTpOi(2) E2 treatment which was 17.70 mg. The lowest percentage of larvae becoming pupae was found in the JaTpOi(2) P. citrinum treatment with an average of 6.67%. The treated S. frugiperda adult had a shorter longevity than the control adult. The control female adult could lay 24.51 eggs while in the entomopathogenic fungus treatment, there were some eggs that did not hatch. Finally, the liquid bioinsecticide formulations with a month-shelf-life was effective in to kill S. frugiperda larvae with an average larvae mortality above 50%. The entomopathogenic fungal isolate that has the highest mortality rate was P. citrinum JaTpOi(2) isolate. Future study needed is to spray the bioinsecticides in green house to kill S. frugiperda larvae.
