PERAN REGIONAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT ON COMBATING PIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY AGAINST SHIPS IN ASIA (RECAAP) TERHADAP KEAMANAN MARITIM DI KAWASAN ASIA TENGGARA TAHUN 2019-2021
This research aims to describe the performance of ReCAAP as the first regional cooperation to combat piracy and armed robbery in the Southeast Asian maritime region, as well as to look at the impact of ReCAAP's presence and its implications in strengthening maritime security for its members. The sources of this research are obtained through journals, books, ebooks, reports and websites that explain ReCAAP and its effectiveness in relation to operations in Southeast Asia using Arild Underdal's international regime theory. ReCAAP plays a role in providing critical information, improving coordination between focal points, and strengthening members ability to respond to piracy and armed robbery issues. The results show that ReCAAP operates effectively in Southeast Asia. This is evident from ReCAAP's ability to deal with complex issues, and the high level of collaboration among members has also led to behavioral changes and optimal technical achievements.
