Coastal ecotourism has great potential to improve the welfare of local communities while preserving the environment. This study aims to identify the potential of ecotourism in the Tanjung Kelayang area, analyze the role of local communities in ecotourism development, and formulate community empowerment strategies based on local wisdom. Data collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires involving various stakeholders. SWOT analysis used to formulate an optimal empowerment strategy. The results of the study showed that Tanjung Kelayang has attractions in the form of coastal natural beauty, biodiversity, and local cultural traditions such as Makan Bedulang and the Muang Jong Festival. However, there are challenges such as the lack of supporting tourism facilities and suboptimal waste management. The proposed community empowerment strategy involves increasing community education in managing local tradition-based tourism, strengthening infrastructure, and digital promotion to expand the tourist network.
