POTENSI BIOCHAR KULIT PISANG LILIN (MUSA ZEBRINA VAN HAUTTE) SEBAGAI ADSORBEN LOGAM PB PADA KOLAM PENAMPUNGAN AIR LINDI TPA SUKAWINATAN KOTA PALEMBANG
Sukawinatan landfill leachate is one of the sources of heavy metal pollution and can affect the surface water quality of surrounding settlements. It is known that the lead content is 2.103 mg/L. The lead content can be reduced by the adsorption method using adsorbents. Adsorbents can be made from organic waste such as banana peels. Banana peel contains pectin and cellulose which can be used in the adsorption process. The use of waxy banana peel needs to be researched to see its ability to absorb lead. The research aims to see the ability, analyze and determine the optimal interaction time and optimal mass of waxy banana peel biochar when processed into an adsorbent to absorb lead on a laboratory scale and determine the adsorption kinetics model and adsorption isotherm model. The research was carried out from March to August 2023, at the Genetics & Biotechnology Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University and the Palembang Industrial Research and Standardization Center, Ministry of Industry, Palembang. The research material used was lilin banana peel. The research used experimental treatment with 3 repetitions. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and then continued with testing the kinetic model and isotherm model. Analysis of Pb metal using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (SSA). The analysis results show a good combination of time and mass, namely 30 minutes with a mass of 1.0 g with an efficiency of 93.86%. The linear regression equation was found to be y= 4.202x + 28.04 and R² = 0.992 for the adsorption kinetics model and the linear regression equation was found to be y = -0.084x + 1.497 and R² = 0.962 for the Langmuir isotherm model. Biochar has the potential to absorb Pb metal in leachate according to the standards of Governor Regulation No. 8/2012, namely in a time of 14.14 minutes and a mass of 0.778 g. The adsorption process, contact time and biochar mass, has an influence on reducing Pb metal so that it can be applied to leachate storage ponds. and the need for further development.
