ANALISIS VARIASI GENETIK GEN PENANDA CYTOCHROME B PADA CEPHALOPACHUS BANCANUS ASAL SUMATERA SELATAN DAN PULAU BANGKA
Cephalopachus bancanus is a primitive primate distributed in western Indonesia and is now classified as a protected species on the IUCN red list as Vulnerable. Cephalopachus bancanus populations from South Sumatra and Bangka Island are the same sub-species, the geographical isolation that has formed affects the distribution and genetic variation. Specific genetic markers are needed as an effort for appropriate conservation strategies in the future. Genetic variation was analyzed using the cytochrome b gene. There were 6 individuals from 8 samples of Cephalopachus bancanus ssp. bancanus that were successfully amplified indicated by the presence of a single band at a base length of 374 bp. The alignment results show a fairly high variation in nucleotide bases. Mutations contained in the analysis results in the form of substitution, deletion, and insertion mutations. The value of haplotype diversity (Hd) obtained in this study can be categorized as having a high level of genetic variation, namely 1. It is also in line that the higher the value of haplotype diversity (Hd), the higher the level of genetic variation of a population.
