HUBUNGAN STATUS GIZI DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIK YANG MENJALANI HEMODIALISA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
About 10% of the world's population lives with chronic kidney disease and continues to increase, including in Indonesia. Patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease usually get hemodialysis therapy as part of their treatment procedure. Good nutritional status in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis is crucial to achieve because it can affect the patient's quality of life. A good quality of life functions to support adaptability, as well as to achieve a prosperous and productive life for daily. This study aims to determine the correlation between nutritional status and quality of life in chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This study used a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. The majority of the 49 respondents were female (67,3%), unemployed (77,6%), had been on hemodialysis for ≥1 year (63.3%), hemodialysis frequency twice a week (97,9%), and had a hemodialysis duration of >4 hours (77,6%). The results of the statistical test showed a significant correlation between nutritional status and quality of life (p = 0,004). The suggestion for future researcher is to consider selecting instruments that are most suitable for the dimensions of quality of life that will be explored. For CKD patients on hemodialysis should adopt a healthy lifestyle to support treatment success and improve quality of life.
