TOLERANSI POLUSI UDARA BEBERAPA POHON DI KAWASAN PT PUSRI PALEMBANG DENGAN METODE AIR POLLUTION TOLERANCE INDEX (APTI)
PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (PUSRI) Palembang is one of the largest fertilizer industrial factories in Indonesia. Production activities in industrial areas will affect the quality of the air. Air pollution comes from factory activities as well as motor vehicle exhaust and forest burning. Providing green open space aims to rehabilitate air quality. This research aims to determine the tolerance of several trees at PT PUSRI Palembang to air pollution using Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) analysis. Determining area sampling using the convenience sampling method based on sample criteria. APTI is obtained by measuring leaf biochemical parameters, including chlorophyll content, pH, ascorbic acid content, and relative air content, with tolerance categories referring to Thakar Mishra (2010). The results showed that the chlorophyll content of Filicium decipiens (Weight & Arn.) Thwaites (fern tree) was 0.092 ± 0.00 mg/g, the leaf pH was 6.14 ± 0.46, the ascorbic acid content was 0.020 ±b0.00 mg/g, and the relative air content was 50.71 ±3.09%. Swietenia macrophylla King (mahogany) chlorophyll content was 0.062±0.02 mg/g, leaf pH was 5.92±0.07, ascorbic acid content was 0.015±0.01 mg/g, and relative air content was 56.14±3.07%. Mimusops elengi L. (bullet wood) chlorophyll content was 0.068±0.02 mg/g, leaf pH was 6.15±0.20, ascorbic acid content was 0.005±0.00 mg/g, and relative air content was 59.30±4.47%. F. decipiens with an APTI value of 5.08 is included in the sensitive species category, while S. macrophylla with an APTI value of 5.62 and M. elengi with an APTI value of 5.93 are species that are moderately tolerant of air pollution.
