UJI EFEK ANTIOKSIDAN PADA TANAMAN KEMBANG TELANG (Clitoria ternatea L.) DENGAN METODE DPPH
Telang flower plant (Clitoria ternatea L.) is known to contain phenolic compounds that act as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity in stems, leaves and seeds of telang flower plants. In this study, the total phenolic content was tested using the folin-ciocalteu method and antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) method on extract samples, n-hexane fractions, ethyl acetate fractions, and ethanol fractions from the stems, leaves, and seeds of telang flower plants. The results of the research on the content of total phenolic compounds from stems, leaves and seeds ranging from the largest to the smallest, the leaf ethyl acetate fraction has the largest KTFe value, then the leaf ethanol fraction, stem ethyl acetate fraction, seed ethyl acetate fraction, seed extract, leaf extract, stem extract, seed ethanol fraction, stem n-hexane fraction, seed n-hexane fraction and finally the sample with the smallest KTFe value of leaf n-hexane fraction. The results of antioxidant activity testing of extracts, n-hexane fractions, ethyl acetate fractions and ethanol fractions of stems, leaves, and seeds of telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) show results that are in line with the total phenolic content, where the higher the total phenolic content, the greater the antioxidant activity. This study confirmed the antioxidant activity of telang flower plants and showed a correlation between phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity.
