DIVERSIFIKASI PENGHIDUPAN PETANI KOPI SETELAH ADANYA PERTAMBANGAN BATUBARA DI DESA TALANG LAPANGAN KABUPATEN LAHAT
The presence of coal mines in Talang Lapangan Village, Lahat Regency, has brought significant changes to the livelihoods of coffee farmers. This study aims to analyze the form of livelihood diversification of coffee farmers after the presence of coal mines using Frank Ellis' theory, which identifies five livelihood assets: human resources, natural resources, social capital, financial resources, and physical assets. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that changes occur in all livelihood assets of coffee farmers. The results also show that coffee farmers utilize their skills and assets to switch to various jobs in the mining sector, such as drivers, miners, and security guards. Outside the mining sector, they also open small businesses such as canteens and become daily workers, such as motorcycle taxi drivers or construction workers.
