Shallots, in Javanese, which means brambang is an annual vegetable plant that is widely grown in areas where the altitude is usually 10 to 250 meters above sea level. Currently, the local variety that is widely planted by farmers is the Bauci (Bauji) variety. This Bauji variety cannot form bulb in highland areas because the Bauji variety adapts well to lowlands. A factor that must be considered in the cultivation of shallot plants is the bulb. Shallots will produce quality bulbs if the nutrients they absorb are sufficient. The application of organic fertilizers is very important for shallot plants, because organic fertilizers have advantages compared to inorganic fertilizers. Chicken manure contains fairly high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium nutrients that are useful for plants. This study was aimed to determine the best dose of chicken manure for the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascolanicum L.) of the Bauji variety. The design used was a Random Blok Design (RBD) with 3 replicates. The dose of chicken manure used here 10 tons/ha (40 g/polybag), 20 tons/ha (80 g/polybag), 30 tons/ha (120 g/polybag) and without chicken manure as a control. The results showed that P3 treatment with a dose of chicken manure of 120 g/polybag could provide the best response in increasing the growth and production of shallot plants at the variables of leaf greenness, root length, fresh weight, dry weight, bulb diameter, bulb length, bulb volume, The fresh weight of the tubers and the dry weight of the bulb were better compared to the administration of other doses of chicken manure on the Bauji variety shallot plants using polybags.
