Peat ecosystems play an important role in mitigating climate change. Indonesia has the largest area of tropical peatland in Southeast Asia and is faced with the problem of peatland degradation due to fires and land conversion. The Government of the Republic Indonesia formed the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency as an effort to accelerate peatland restoration. Social media X has a role in expressing public opinion regarding the implementation of peatland restoration policies in Indonesia. This research aims to find out how the national mood occurs in society based on the public opinion sentiment of X users. Urgency measures the national mood to find out whether the policies implemented are appropriate or vice versa. This research uses mixed methods, a quantitative approach is carried out using sentiment analysis using the Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm and Support Vector Machine as well a qualitative approach to understand the patterns and meaning of tweet data. 8,026 tweet samples were collected using the Python programming language in the period 6 January 2016-13 October 2024. The results of sentiment analysis will be combined with the concept of national mood from the multiplestream framework theory by Kingdon. Based on NBC sentiment analysis, the tweet data was dominated by 3,861 (48.11%) positive sentiments with accuracy of 79% and the SVM algorithm also found a dominance of 4,220 (52.57%) positive sentiments with an accuracy of 98%. The research findings show that the national atmosphere of X users towards peat restoration policies tends to be supported and satisfied by the community even though there are around 18-24% of critical opinions that have negative sentiments and the government needs to evaluate them. Therefore, it is recommended for the government to extend BRGM's term of office which expires on December 31 2024 based on Presidential Decree No. 120 of 2020.
