UJI AKTIVITAS NANOEMULSI MINYAK CENGKEH DAN CREMOPHOR RH-40 PEMBAWA ASAM USNAT TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA BAKAR PADA TIKUS WISTAR
Lichen is one of the organisms known for its diverse secondary metabolites, one of which is usnic acid. Usnic acid is known to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities to accelerate burn wound healing. This study aims to determine the concentration of clove oil and Cremophor RH-40 from various concentrations to obtain the optimum usnic acid nanoemulsion formula and test its activity in healing burns. The nanoemulsion formula was optimized using the regularar two-level factorial design method analysed with Design Expert 12 software. The optimum formula selected came from the system with a concentration of 3,5% clove oil 10% Cremophor RH-40. Characterization results showed that the formula had a particle size of 223,9 ± 58,18 nm, polydispersity index of 0,37 ± 00,06, and zeta potential 0f -12,67 ± 0,15 mV. Based on data analysis using one-way ANOVA, the results showed that the optimum nanoemulsion formula did not have a significant difference compared to the positive control in burn wound healing activity as evidenced by the recovery percentage of 98,63 ± 0,1% in 12 days. Nanoemulsion has the potential to be developed as a wound healing drug. Keywords: Usnic acid, Cremophor RH-40, Burns, Clove oil, Nanoemulsion
