Pesticides are natural or chemical compounds that act to control pests, diseases, and weeds. Farmers’ knowledge related to use of pesticide in agricultural practices is still an important concern because can affect the biodiversity of pests, diseases, natural enemies, and neutral insects in the field. The thesis aimed to evaluate the compliance score of pesticide use and the category of farmers' knowledge, the diversity of insects found, the percentage and intensity of pest and disease attacks, the relationship between the compliance score of farmers' pesticide use with the percentage and intensity of pest and disease attacks in Musi Banyuasin Regency. The thesis was carried out by surveying and interviewing horticultural crop farmers followed by observing the land of the interviewed farmers in Sekayu and Lais Districts, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The results of the thesis obtained the average farmer compliance score was 274,45 with high knowledge category. The diversity index of all insects found is medium, medium dominance, and depressed community. The percentage of Bothrogonia ferruginea (Fabricius) (Hemiptera: Cicadelidae) was 3,78%, the intensity of Planococcus citri (Risso) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) at 2,58%. The percentage and intensity of chili leaf spot disease by Cercospora capsici were 21,22% and 13,69%. The correlation value of percentage and intensity pest attacked were -0,51 (strong) and -0,37 (sufficient) and disease attacked were -0,26 (sufficient) and -0,21 (sufficient). The coefficients of determination of percentage and intensity pest attacked were 0,26 (sufficient) and 0,13 (very weak) and disease attacked were 0,07 (very weak) and 0,04 (very weak).
