This research aims to analyze the characteristics of Ti6Al4V type titanium plate material in the welding process using laser welding technology with a power of 1000 watts. The main focus of the research is to examine the effect of variations in welding speed (1 mm/s, 3 mm/s, and 5 mm/s) on corner distortion, material hardness, microstructure, and macrostructure. Titanium was chosen as the main material because of its high strength, lightness and corrosion resistance, while laser welding technology was chosen because of its ability to produce welds with high precision, deep penetration and small hot areas. The experimental method was carried out by testing the weld results using the Vickers hardness test, microstructural analysis with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), composition analysis with EDS, as well as morphological and macrostructural observations. The research results show that welding speed significantly influences the final result. Low speed (1 mm/s) produces high angular distortion and better material hardness, while high speed (5 mm/s) produces low distortion and fine microstructure but increases the risk of defects, such as microcracks and porosity. Moderate speed (3 mm/s) provides optimal results with even energy distribution, minimum distortion and stable microstructure. In conclusion, a speed of 3 mm/s is considered ideal for practical applications of titanium welding. This study also highlights the challenges in laser welding of titanium, particularly regarding heat distribution to prevent weld defects. Further research is recommended to explore a wider variety of titanium materials, laser powers, and welding parameters to support industrial applications. Keywords: Titanium Plate, Laser Welding, Welding Speed, Vickers Hardness, Microstructure.
