EFIKASI EKSTRAK KASAR Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin PADA TIGA LEVEL KONSENTRASI TERHADAP LARVA Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith)
Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E.Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) attack has become a major issue disrupting maize plant productivity in Indonesia. People began to abandon chemical control because of its adverse effects on the environment and began to apply biological control. One of its used through control used the entomopathogenic fungus species Beauveria bassiana (Bals). This research aimed to test the crude extract of the fungus B. bassiana applied at three concentration levels 50 ppm, 100 ppm, and 150 ppm. The results showed of the three concentrations showed that 150 ppm caused the highest mortality in the larvae reaching 62%. The application of B. bassiana crude extract also affects the feeding preferences and development of S. frugiperda, as evidenced by the disruption of pupae formation, adult, and the number of eggs produced. Of the three concentrations, the lowest pupae and adult formation was found at a concentration of 150 ppm, there was 19.33% and 9.33%. Therefore, from the three concentrations of crude extract applied to S. frugiperda that the concentration of 150 ppm was the most effective concentration used. Further research is needed to determine the crude extract of B. bassiana as an organic insecticide ingredient in controlling S. frugiperda.
