KONSENTRASI TOTAL VFA DAN N-AMMONIA RUMPUT GAJAH (PENNISETUM PURPUREUM) DENGAN CAIRAN RUMEN TERADAPTASI NPN RUMINOFRASS SECARA IN VITRO
Protein in feed will be hydrolyzed by rumen microbes into peptides and amino acids in the rumen fermentation process. The aim of this research was to study the total concentration of Volatile Fatty Acides (VFA) and N-Ammonia in Elephant grass incubated with rumen fluid adapted to NPN Ruminofrass in vitro. This research was carried out from September to November 2022 at the Nutrition and Animal feed Laboratory, Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University Sriwijaya. This study used the T-Test Analysis method with 2 treatments and 5 replications, with a total of 10 samples. The treatments consisted of P0 (Rumen Liquid of Slaughterhouse + Elephant Grass) and P1 (Rumen Fluid Adapted to NPN Ruminofrass + Elephant Grass). Parameters observed were total VFA concentration (mM) and N-Ammonia concentration (mM) in vitro. The results showed that the total concentrations of Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) and N-Ammonia had significantly different results (P
