APLIKASI KOMPOS LOTUS PADA BUDIDAYA TANAMAN KAILAN (Brassica oleraceae var. Alboglabra) DI TANAH ASAL RAWA LEBAK
Kailan (Brassica oleracea var. Alboglabra) is an annual plant from the Brassicaceae family that has shiny dark green leaves and it is very popular in public, because it contains nutrients that are very beneficial for health. Currently, kailan production is relatively low. The one way to increase the production by soil fertilization. The fertilizer used not just to increase the production, but also as a soil improver, spesifically for swamp of soil which has low fertility level. This research was carried out to determine the effect of various doses of lotus compost with and without NPK on the growth and yield of kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae var. Alboglabra) cultivated in lowland swamp soil. This research was carried out on Politeknik Street, Bukit Lama Urban Village, Palembang, South Sumatra with coordinates 3°00'15.4"S 104°43'44.5"E then the laboratory anlysis was carried out in Plant Physiology Laboratory of the Agricultural Cultivation Department and Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Laboratory of Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University since November 2023 to January 2024. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with eight treatments, each treatment was replicated 4 times and the total of the treatments was 32 units. The treatments used were KL0 (Control), KL1 (450 kg ha-1 NPK), KL2 (5 tons ha-1 lotus compost), KL3 (10 tons ha-1 lotus compost), KL4 (20 tons ha-1 lotus compost lotus), KL5 (5 tons ha-1 lotus compost + NPK (450 kg ha-1), KL6 (10 tons ha-1 lotus compost + NPK (450 kg ha-1) and KL7 (20 tons ha-1 lotus compost + NPK (450 kg ha-1). The observed variables were soil pH analysis, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf greenness level, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, dry weight roots, root length and root crown ratio, and economic feasibility analysis. The results of the study show that the application of various doses of lotus compost with and without NPK had a very significant effect on almost all variables. The treatment with the highest results was obtained from the KL7 treatment with a dose of 20 tons ha-1 lotus compost + NPK (450 kg ha-1), but giving a dose of 10 tons ha-1 lotus compost + 100 % NPK can also provide growth and yield of kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae var. Alboglabra) are good with cheaper production costs.
