This research aims to describe the role of volunteers in nonformal education within the learning group of the South Sumatra Children's Volunteer Community. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Nonformal education becomes a solution for children who have difficulty accessing formal education. South Sumatra Children's Volunteer plays a role in providing education for underprivileged children in the city of Palembang through study groups spread across several locations. Research results show that volunteers in the South Sumatra Children's Volunteer community play a primary role as facilitators and educators. As facilitators, the volunteers provide motivation and guidance to the children under their care. As educators, they prepare learning materials, teach basic skills, and support the character development of the children. This research emphasizes that the presence of volunteers significantly influences the improvement of children's education quality. With structured mentoring provided by the South Sumatra Children's Volunteer Community, children have the opportunity to learn and develop according to their potential. It is hoped that this research can serve as a reference for various parties in developing community based nonformal education programs. Keywords: Community, Nonformal Education, Volunteer
