The research that has been carried out administratively located in Tanjung Aur II and its surroundings, South Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. The aims of this research are to identifying geological features from the aspects of geomorphology, stratigraphy, and especially geological structures. The results of field observations were recorded into a kinematic model of geological structures and tectonic transport using the field observation method, laboratory analysis, studio analysis, and report preparation. The study area is divided into 6 landforms based on the results of field observations, namely Fold Hills (PL), Denudational Hills (PD), Denudational Low Hills (PRD), Floodplain (DB), Channel Sinous (CS), and Channel Irregular Meander (CIM). The stratigraphy of the study area from old in order to young includes the Seblat Formation (Toms), Lemau Formation (Tml), and Simpang Aur Formation (Tmps). The Seblat Formation was consisted of mudstone and sandstone units with relative age from Late Oligocene to Early Miocene in the shallow marine depositional environment. Lemau Formation was consisted of sandstones, siltstones, and mudstones units during the Middle Miocene with the shallow marine - fluvial depositional environment. The Simpang Aur Formation is composed of mollusc sandstone units deposited in the transitional environment during the Late Miocene - Pliocene age period. In the research area, there were found NE-SW oriented geological structures including 3 listric normal faults and 1 domino fault related to the Neogene Graben System during basin subsidence. NW - SE trending structures were also found, indicated by 6 folds and 1 thrust fault. Neogene tectonic deformation in the study area is controlled by two regimes responsible for the development of geological structures. The extensional regime has deformed the Lemau Formation during the Early Neogene through a fault-bend fold mechanism with an extension ratio of about 6.85%, a minimum lengthening of ~0.34 km, and a deformation velocity of ~0.014 mm/year. This regime has a tectonic transport direction derived from the NW. whereas in the Late Neogene, the contractional regime caused deformation in the entire formation through folding and thrusting mechanisms with a contraction ratio of about 18.99%, a minimum shortening of ~2.04 km, and a deformation velocity of ~0.38 mm/year. The tectonic transport direction in this regime is derived from the NE which is associated with the uplift of Bukit Barisan.
