Consumption is an activity that is always carried out by households to fulfill their daily life needs, which consists of consuming food and non-food. Household consumption needs also change according to income levels and changes in conditions. Research objectives: (1) What is the average household income of residents of Lalang Sembawa Village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin Regency, (2) How much is the household consumption expenditure of residents of Lalang Sembawa Village, (3) What is the influence of household income, education of the head of the household, the number of household members and the price of rice on household food consumption expenditure in the community in Lalang Sembawa Village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin Regency. The method used is a survey method. This research was conducted in January 2022 with a total of 45 respondents. The data processing method uses mathematical calculations and is analyzed using the t test (Paired Sample T-test). The results of the research show that (1) the average monthly household income in Lalang Sembawa village is 1,801,369 (2) the average expenditure is IDR 213,000/month, then the average non-food expenditure is IDR 97,000/ months, (3) Based on the tests carried out, among the variables family income, education of the head of the household, number of household members and price of rice that have a significant effect on household food consumption, only two variables, family income and price of rice, found significant values in the test T which is smaller than α (0.05).
