This study aims to determine the management of archives in the Household Sub-Division of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD Secretariat and to identify the challenges faced in managing archives. Using a qualitative approach, this study explores the management of archives in the Household Sub-Division, the methodology used in this study includes interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The Archives Management Theory from Zulkifli Amsyah (2003) is used as an analytical framework to understand how archives are managed. Based on the results regarding the implementation of archive management in the household sub-division of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD Secretariat, it can be said that the implementation of archive management has been carried out well. This can also be seen from the results and discussions regarding archive management at the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD Secretariat office, especially in the Household Sub-Division, it can be concluded that effective archive management involves several important dimensions, namely creation, collection, processing, storage, maintenance, and destruction.
