This research is entitled “The Role of the PBSA (Pemuda Boran Sungai Angit) Business Group in Empowering Old Oil Wells in Sungai Angit Village, Babat Toman District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, 2007-2020”. This research aims to find out how the history of the management of old petroleum wells in Sungai Angit Village in 2007-2020, how the activities of the community and PBSA (Pemuda Boran Sungai Angit) in empowering old petroleum wells in Sungai Angit Village, and how the role of PBSA (Pemuda Boran Sungai Angit) in the social, economic life of the community in Sungai Angit Village in 2007-2020. The methodology used in this research is the historical method, with steps of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The approaches used in this research are social approach and economic approach. Based on the results of the research, it is known that there are some 535 Dutch heritage petroleum boreholes that are managed and distributed independently by the people of Sungai Angit village. In its activities, PBSA empowers the oil products from the old wells, especially in terms of distribution, PBSA cooperates with PT Pertamina. PBSA has played an active role in the socio-economic development of the Sungai Angit Village community and provides assistance in the form of local labor absorption, maintenance and provision of several Sungai Angit Village facilities.
