Indonesia has significant potential in the export of staple food commodities due to its rich natural resources and the diversity of commodities produced. The objectives of this research are (1) To identify which provinces have competitive potential for staple food commodities in Indonesia, (2) To analyze the competitive potential of staple food commodities at the marketable surplus stage in Indonesia, and (3) To provide recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness of staple food commodities at the marketable surplus stage in Indonesia. Data collection was conducted from October 2024 to December 2024. The results of the study indicate that : (1) The provinces with competitive potential for staple food commodities in Indonesia in 2022 and 2023 are Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), East Java, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Gorontalo, and South Sulawesi. (2) The staple food commodities that were competitive at the marketable surplus stage in Indonesia in 2022 and 2023 include potatoes, maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, rice, taro, and peanuts, with an RCA value greater than 1.(3) Recommendations for improving the competitiveness of staple food commodities at the marketable surplus stage are as follows, the priority for the export value of staple food commodities is price and consumption, with a value of 0.248, the priority for the total export value of staple food commodities is economic growth, with a value of 0.256;, for the export performance of staple food commodities is market share and commodity quality, with a value of 0.272
