ANALISIS SINTESIS NANOSILIKA BERBAHAN DASAR ABU BAHAN BAKAR MINYAK SAWIT MENGGUNAKAN METODE PENGGILINGAN DENGAN VARIASI DURASI WAKTU PENGGILINGAN
Nanosilica is nano-sized silica, which is around 1-100 nm and has a function to increase the compressive strength of concrete. Nanosilica can be produced by the extraction process from palm oil fuel ash waste. The materials used in this study were palm oil fuel ash and high energy milling as a grinding tool. This study used variations in grinding time for 1, 3, and 5 hours. This study used microstructure testing to analyze the extraction results in the form of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). From these results it can be concluded that the longer the grinding time, the smaller the size and percentage of crystals and increase the silica content in the sample. Based on the test, it was obtained that the optimum time for grinding in the extraction process was 5 hours which produced a silica purity of ±48% and an average crystal size of 14.81 nm with crystalline as much as 2.76% and amorphous as much as 97.24%.
