PEMBUATAN BIOBRIKET CANGKANG BIJI KARET (HEVEA BRASILIENSIS) MENGGUNAKAN AKTIVATOR ASAM SULFAT PADA VARIASI WAKTU AKTIVASI DAN KONSENTRASI PEREKAT GETAH DAMAR
The manufacture of rubber seed shell biobriquettes have been made with variations in activation time and resin resin concentration and their characterization according to SNI 01-6235-2000. Rubber seed shells are carbonized in a pyrolysis reactor at a temperature of 400 to 500°C for 165 minutes. The rubber seed shell charcoal is ground then blended and sieved using a 60 mesh sieve. The rubber seed shell charcoal is then activated using sulfuric acid with variations in activation time for 8, 16, 24 hours and without activation time while the variation in resin resin concentration is 10, 20, 30 and 50% against the % b/b of the terpentine solvent used. Activated rubber seed shell charcoal as much as 50 grams is mixed with 50 mL of resin resin adhesive and molded using hydraulic biobriquettes. Biobriquette characterization is carried out by testing water content, ash content, volatile matter content, calorific value, drop test value and density value. The best biobriquette characterization was obtained from activated charcoal for 24 hours with a concentration of 50% damar resin adhesive. The water content was 4.02%, ash content was 6.28%, volatile matter content was 9.84%, carbon content was 79.76%, calorific value was 5803.72 cal/g, drop test was 0% and density was 0.97 grams/cm3. The characterization of damar resin adhesive biobriquettes met SNI 01-6235-2000, but the odor was quite sharp. The results of the biobriquette characterization analysis using the best composition obtained a test content that met the quality requirements according to SNI 01-6235-2000.
