PERAN HYBE CORPORATION DALAM DIPLOMASI PUBLIK KOREA SELATAN DI INDONESIA
South Korea is a country known for its successful public diplomacy, public diplomacy conducted by this country involves state actors and non-state actors such as companies. As an entertainment company that has considerable influence in Korea, Hybe Corporation has been involved in South Korea's public diplomacy in the world, including in Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to explain the role of Hybe Corporation in South Korea's public diplomacy in Indonesia. This research uses White's Corporate Diplomacy concept (2015) by using qualitative methods and secondary data. The results of this study show that of the five aspects of White's Corporate Diplomacy (2015), the role of Hybe Corporation in South Korea's public diplomacy in Indonesia is only found in three aspects, namely cultural diplomacy, brand/product/exports and branding, while in the other two aspects, namely Foreign Investment and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the role is not found.The first role is in the aspect of cultural diplomacy, this company plays a role in introducing South Korean culture, especially K-pop and South Korean language to the Indonesian people. Second, the brand/product/exports aspect, plays a role in introducing local South Korean products and building positive perceptions of the country in Indonesian society. Finally, in the branding aspect, Hybe Corporation succeeded in building South Korean tourism branding through idols who have been appointed by the government to become South Korean tourism ambassadors.
