PENGARUH JAMUR ENDOFIT ASAL TANAMAN CABAI (Capsicum annuum L.) DALAM MENGHAMBAT PERTUMBUHAN Colletotrichum capsici PENYEBAB PENYAKIT ANTRAKNOSA
Red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is an agricultural commodity with high economic value, playing a crucial role in the economy. However, red chili cultivation often faces various challenges, one of which is the attack of anthracnose disease caused by pathogenic fungi of the genus Colletotrichum, which can cause yield losses of up to 65%. This study aims to determine the effect of endophytic fungi derived from chili plants (C. annuum) in inhibiting the growth of C. capsici, the cause of anthracnose disease, both In Vitro and In Vivo. The In Vitro test was conducted by testing the ability of endophytic fungi that had been identified through the Dual Culture method, while the In Vivo test was conducted on red chili fruit using the wounding method. The results showed that endophytic fungi from chili (C. annuum) plants were effective in inhibiting the growth of the pathogenic fungus C. capsici in In Vitro and In Vivo. One of the Trichoderma isolates, AkCbTjp, was shown to inhibit the growth of C. capsici up to 87.1% by In Vitro test. Furthermore, when applied to chili fruit, Trichoderma isolate AkCbTjp can also reduce the severity of infection by only 11.3% in In Vivo. Thus, endophytic fungi proved to be very effective in controlling the growth and development of C. capsici, both In Vitro and In Vivo. However, more in-depth research and verification in the field would be valuable to optimize the application of this strategy.
