POTENSI AKUMULASI LOGAM BERAT KADMIUM (Cd) DAN TIMBAL (Pb) PADA AYAM BROILER DAN AYAM KAMPUNG DI WILAYAH PERKOTAAN PALEMBANG
Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) are heavy metals that are toxic to the body and are widely found in swamplands and landfills, which can also contaminate livestock such as Broiler Chickens and Native Chickens. The purpose of this study was to assess the content of Cd and Pb metals in the liver, breast and feathers of broiler chickens and native chickens and then compare differences between livestock and with the maximum limit of metal content in food. The study starting in early May dan ended in December 2023. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Experimental Animal and the analysis of Cd and Pb content was conducted at the Laboratorium Terpadu of Institut Pertanian Bogor. Data analysis conducted in this study was by using t test, to compare the accumulation of heavy metals in broiler chickens with heavy metals in native chickens. This t-test conducted using Ms Excel. The results of this study indicated that the content of Cd and Pb in meat and feathers of broiler and native chickens was not different and was still below the maximum value set by Standard Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Lead in the liver of native chickens was higher than in broiler liver and exceeded the maximum limit set by SNI. Keywords: Cadmium, Lead, Broiler Chicken, Native Chicken,
