PENGARUH PENINGKATAN SUHU KANDANG TERHADAP KADAR ERITROSIT DAN LEUKOSIT DALAM DARAH KAMBING LOKAL
Increased ambient temperature often affects the physiological response of goats. This study aimed to determine the effect of increasing the ambient temperature on eritrocyte and leukocyte levels in the blood of Kacang and Kacang-Etawa cross-breed. This research was conducted from December 2022 to January 2023, located in a farm at North Indralaya sub-district, Ogan Ilir Regency. In this study using 12 goats, namely 6 Kacang and 6 Kacang-Etawa cross-breed aged 9 months to 1 year using the paired T test method, designed to compare eritrocyte and leukocyte levels in the blood in goats that experienced an increase in normal cage temperature by using 2 treatments 2 temperature levels namely normal (25ºC - 33ºC) and heat (26 ºC - 39 ºC) and using 12 repetitions in 2 periods of blood collection. In this study, the average for erythrocyte levels was 3,9 – 4,0 106/µL, leucocytes were 15,4 – 17,7 103/µL, and feed consumption was 45,6 – 46,3 g/kg BW0,75. The results of this study showed no significant differences in eritrocyte and leucocyte levels in the blood of Kacang and Kacang-Etawa cross-breed.
