PREPARASI DAN KARAKTERISASI KINERJA ELEKTRODA ZrO2-TiO2/C PADA ELEKTROLISIS METANOL
A study has been conducted to develop ZrO2-TiO2/C electrode for methanol electrolysis. This electrode was made using the brush method on a nickel mesh plate and tested using the Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) methods. The results of the CV method measurements obtained an anodic peak at 0.5972 V with an oxidation peak current (Ipoks) of 8.91 × 10-4 A, while the cathodic peak was obtained at 0.2078 V with a reduction peak current (Ipred) of 2.83 × 10-4A. Meanwhile, LSV measurements showed varying oxidation peaks in the potential range of 0V-0.4V with methanol concentrations varying between 2.5, 8, and 12% in variations of (a) (a) R2 of 0,961 (b) R2 of 0,9801 (c) R2 of 0,9873 (d) R2 of 0,9929. This shows a relationship that tends to be linear between the two variables in the binchotan + chitosan variation. The results of the XRD test characterization showed 5 ZrO2 2θ peaks of 28°, 32°, 39°, 50°, and 60° where the values are in accordance with (ICDD no: 37-1484) there are 3 TiO2 2θ peaks of 26°, 36°, and 55° where the values are in accordance with (JCPDS no: 88-1175 and 84-1286), and there are 2 carbon peaks at an angle of 2θ of 45.272o and 68°, the data obtained are in accordance with the reference pattern (JCPDS no: 46-0943). The results of the SEM test showed the morphological structure of the ZrO2-TiO2/binchotan + chitosan electrode surface with a magnification of 3,000 times at a surface voltage of 5.00kV which is irregularly shaped and has few pores.
