RESPON PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN SELADA FUMAK (Lactuca sativa var. Longifolia Lam) PADA VARIASI INTENSITAS NAUNGAN DAN KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM
This research aims to determine the optimal shade intensity and planting media composition for fumak lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa var. Longifolia Lam.). This research was carried out at the Agrotech Training Center (ATC) Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, South Sumatra from July 2023 until September 2023. The research was carried out using a split plot design that consisting 2 plots. Each combination was repeated in 3 repetitions, and each repetition consisted of 2 main plants and 2 reserve plants. So the total number of plants is 72 plants. The treatment consists of the main plot, that shade intensity (N) which consists of 3 levels, namely: N0 = No Shade, N50 = Shade Intensity 50%, N90 = Shade Intensity 90%. Composition (K) which consists of 3 levels, namely: K1 = Planting Media Composition Without Mixture, K2 = Media Planting Composition Soil and Cow Manure 2:1, K3 = Media Planting Composition Soil and Cow Manure 1:2. The parameters observed were leaf greenness level, leaf length, plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight of leaves, fresh weight of stems, fresh weight of roots, fresh weight of shoots, dry weight of leaves, dry weight of stems, dry weight of roots, dry weight of shoots, shoot-root ratio, Root Length, Leaf Consumption, and Soil Water Content. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the shade intensity treatment and the planting media mixture had a significant influence on the growth of fumak lettuce plants. The best observation results on fumak lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa var. Longifolia Lam) were found in the 50% shade treatment and a 1:2 mixture of soil and cow manure (N50 and K3). This can be seen from several parameters observed such as leaf length, number of leaves, crown root ratio and the highest leaf consumption obtained in the N50 from shade intensity treatment and K3 from plant media composition treatment.
