Pollution by heavy metals is one of the X important causes of decreased soil function and productivity. Cr toxicity affects plant growth and inhibits important metabolic processes. Typically Cr toxicity reduces plant growth by inducing ultrastructural modifications of cell membranes and chloroplasts, causing chlorosis in leaves. damaging cell roots reducing pigment content, disrupting the relationship of water and mineral nutrients, affecting nitrogen transpiration and assimilation and by altering different enzymatic activities. This study aims to determine the heavy metal content of chromium (Cr) in andisol soil and several objectives of soil chemical physical properties in PTPN VII Tea Plantation Pagaralam Unit. This study used a detailed survey method using a scale of 1:20.000. The area of tea plantations of PTPN VII Pagaralam Unit with a total area of 1,522.69 hectares. The method used in this sampling is the stratified sampling method. Soil sampling is divided based on age ranges, namely, ages 5 - 15 years. 16 - 25 years, 26 - 35 years and 36 - 45 years, where each age range is carried out 3 repeat samples. Each location took 5 soil drilling sample points with a depth of 0 - 30 cm, then 5 drilling points were composite into one sample. So each location has 4 age ranges in soil samples with a total of 12 soil samples for chromium (Cr) heavy metal analysis. The data obtained were tested by multiple regression linear. Based on the results of research, the heavy metal chromium in andisol soil amounted to 0.027 - 0.057 mg kg-1 with an average of 0.38 mg kg-1. The conclusion of the results of the study is that the heavy metal chromium in andisol soil is still below the threshold 2,5 mg kg-1. Key words: Andisol, Chromium, Heavy Metals, Tea.
