In the agricultural sector, soil is a factor that acts as a planting medium to determine the success of agricultural businesses. One of the most dangerous soil contaminants is heavy metals. Cadmium (Cd) is one example of a heavy metal that is dangerous when present in the soil and can cause serious problems if it has been polluted into the environment. The purpose of this research is to study the content of heavy metal Cadmium (Cd) in the Andisol tillage layer at PTPN VII Pagar Alam Unit and to study the relationship between soil chemical properties (KTK, C-Organic, pH) with the content of heavy metal Cadmium (Cd). This research was conducted at PTPN VII Pagar Alam Unit from July to November 2023. The method used in this research is to use a detailed survey method with a scale of 1:25,000. The area of tea plantations studied was 86,286 Ha which was divided into 12 block locations with a total of 3 replicates. Soil sampling points using stratified sampling method were taken based on the age range of plants 4-14 years, 15-25 years, 26-36 years, and 37-47 years where each age range was carried out 3 replicate samples. Each replicate was taken 5 soil drilling points with a depth of 0-30 cm then composited and a total of 12 soil samples were analyzed for cadmium (Cd) heavy metal content. The results showed that the presence of heavy metal cadmium (Cd) in the Andisol tillage layer ranged from 0.003 mg/kg - 0.008 mg/kg with an average of 0.004 mg/kg. And there is no significant influence between chemical properties (KTK, C-Organic, pH) on the content of heavy metal Cadmium (Cd) in the soil. This means that the presence of heavy metal Cadmium (Cd) in the Andisol tillage layer of tea plants in PTPN VII Pagar Alam Unit has not exceeded the threshold value. Keywords: Andisol, Cadmium, Tea.
