ANALISIS SINTESIS NANOSILIKA BERBAHAN DASAR LIMBAH KAOLIN MENGGUNAKAN METODE PRESIPITASI DENGAN VARIASI TEMPERATUR PEMANASAN
Nanosilica is silica with a nanoscale size ranging from 1 to 100 nm, which serves to enhance the compressive strength of concrete. Nanosilica can be synthesized from kaolin waste. The materials used in this study include kaolin and a magnetic stirrer as a mixing tool. This research employs variations in heating temperatures of 100°C, 120°C, and 140°C. Microstructural testing methods, including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), were utilized to analyze the extracted products. From the XRD test results, it can be concluded that the greater the combustion temperature, the smaller the size and the greater the amorphous percentage. From the results of XRF and SEM tests, it is concluded that higher temperatures will produce the most amount of silica. According to tests, the optimum burning temperature for the synthesis process is 140°C, which produces silica purity of about 56% with a crystal size of 13.99 nm, composed of 6.85% crystalline and 93.14% amorphous material.
