This research aims to explore factors that are closely related to student selection of study programs, namely between FMIPA Mathematics and FMIPA Non-Mathematics, as well as between FMIPA Mathematics and FKIP Mathematics Education. This research uses the CHAID method. This research data uses data from the results of distributing questionnaires to active students of the FMIPA Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA Non-Mathematics, and Mathematics Education FKIP Sriwijaya University from the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The dependent variables in this research are the choice of study program and the independent variable namely motivation for choosing a study program, motivation to learn, interest in the study program, talent and enjoyment of counting, influence of family environment, influence of peers, perception of job prospects, branding of the program studies, the influence of alumni, the influence of teachers, the influence of tutoring institutions, the influence of social media, the influence of the campus environment, and the influence of education costs. The research results show that the influence of alumni and motivation for choosing a study program has a significant difference with choosing a study program between FMIPA Mathematics and FMIPA Non-Mathematics. All independent variables do not have a significant difference with the choice of study program between FMIPA Mathematics and FKIP Mathematics Education.
