SOLIDARITAS PADA TRADISI MELEMANG DESA KEPUR KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM SUMATERA SELATAN
This research examines community solidarity in the melemang tradition and aims to describe the forms of mechanical and organic solidarity in the melemang tradition in Kepur Village, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. The research method used is a qualitative method that is descriptive in nature with an ethnographic strategy. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. It was found that the melemang tradition is a tradition that has been carried out for generations once a year in the month of Muharram by the people of Kepur Village. In this tradition, there are four main series of activities, namely the melemang celebration, cleaning the puyang tomb, cleaning the heirloom objects left by the puyang and the almsgiving event at the Darussalam Mosque. In the melemang tradition in Kepur Village, solidarity is built very closely as a sense of brotherhood, unity, and mutual assistance that is shared in society. The results of this study indicate that the melemang tradition is in accordance with Emile Durkheim's theory of solidarity. The forms of mechanical solidarity in the melemang tradition include mutual cooperation, cooperation, fostering friendship, and harmony between communities. In addition, this melemang tradition also reflects a form of organic solidarity, such as the division of labor and interdependence between communities. The melemang tradition by the Kepur Village community still has a high social solidarity value, this can be seen from the way the community maintains and continues to carry out traditions that have existed since the time of their ancestors.
