This research discusses optimization problems in the problem of determining the optimal location of hospitals with emergency room or emergency room facilities that can be accessed from each sub-district in Palembang City by formulating the COPRAS and SMART methods using the Ms. Excel 2019 application. The COPRAS and SMART methods are used for decision making based on criteria that have been given weights. The five criteria used in this study are the time and distance needed to travel from each sub-district to a hospital with ER or IGD facilities, the level of service, and the number of general practitioners and specialists in each hospital with ER or IGD facilities. The results obtained in this study are recommendations for several optimal locations of hospitals with ER or IGD facilities that can be visited by people from each sub-district based on the five criteria that have been determined using the COPRAS and SMART methods. From these results, three hospitals were obtained that were optimally visited from each sub-district, namely DR. Muhammad Hoesin General Hospital – Pertamina General Hospital – Ernaldi Bahar Mental Hospital. The most optimal hospital location placement is using the SMART method based on the five criteria that have been determined.
