ANALISIS PEMASARAN SAPI POTONG PADA PASAR HEWAN DI KECAMATAN SUNGAI PINANG KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the marketing channels of beef cattle at the Sungai Pinang District Livestock Market, Ogan Ilir Regency, (2) to analyze the marketing margins of beef cattle and farmer’s share at the Sungai Pinang District Livestock Market, Ogan Ilir Regency, and (3) to analyze the efficiency level of marketing beef cattle at the Sungai Pinang District Livestock Market, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was conducted at the Sungai Pinang District Livestock Market, Ogan Ilir Regency. The selection of this research location was intentional because it is one of the commodity centers for livestock trading in South Sumatra. This research was carried out from April 2023 to October 2023. The research method used was a direct field survey method, which involved direct interviews with relevant parties involved in the trading process at the livestock market. The results of this research indicate that (1) the formed marketing channels consist of farmers, wholesalers, and retailers in the first marketing channel, and farmers, collectors, wholesalers, and retailers in the second marketing channel, (2) The average marketing margin in marketing channel 1 is Rp14,188,000/head and in marketing channel 2 is Rp13,620,000/head. Based on the analysis, the Farmer's share in this livestock market has reached an efficient level, as the average values are 60% for marketing channel 1 and 55.5% for marketing channel 2, with marketing channel 1 being more efficient than marketing channel 2 because the farmer's share value is higher. Efficiency is usually considered achieved if the farmer's share value exceeds 40%.
