GAMBARAN KETERAMPILAN SATUAN PENGAMAN DALAM MELAKUKAN RESUSITASI JANTUNG PARU DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
The incidence of Out Of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) in the community is quite high, but the assistance given to victims is still low, this is due to the lack of cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills by lay people, one of whom is security guards. This study aims to determine the description of security guard skills in carrying out cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This study was a quantitative study using a descriptive survey design. The sample was 80 respondents using the total sampling technique. Data collection using an observation sheet questionnaire. The results of the study showed that 82.5% of respondents were unskilled, 17.5% of respondents had inadequate skills. The description of security guard skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation showed that respondents really need further training and education to be able to provide effective first aid in cardiac arrest situations. The results of this study showed that the none of security guards are skilled in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation which is needed when security guards find victims with cardiac arrest on campus. Security guards were not skilled in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, efforts need to be made to improve security guard skills so that security guards can perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on campus.
