flavonoid compounds and has the potential as an antihyperuricemia. This study aims to evaluate the antihyperuricemia activity of ethanol extract of B. spectabilis in male white rats of the Wistar strain. Extraction was carried out by the maceration method using 96% ethanol. The extract was characterized and tested the antihyperuricemia activity used 35 rats male were divided into 7 groups: normal group, positive control (allopurinol), negative control (0,5% Na-CMC), and the treatment group of ethanol extract of B. spectabilis with doses of 100, 200, 400, and 800 mg/kg BW. Before testing, the rats were made in a hyperuricemia condition by giving 25 mL/kg BW chicken liver juice and 2 g/kg BW melinjo seeds. Uric acid levels were measured on days 0, 15, 20, 25, and 30 using the spectrophotometric method. The extract showed results that met the requirements. The extract showed antihyperuricemia activity and the highest activity was shown by the 800 mg/kg BW dose group. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the 800 mg/kg BW dose group and the allopurinol positive control (p>0,05), but there was significant difference with other treatment groups (p0,05). The Effective Dose 50 (ED50) value was 394,39 mg/kg BW. These results indicate that the ethanol extract of B. spectabilis has the potential for antihyperuricemia activity.
