UJI AKTIVITAS DIURETIK EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SUNGKAI (Peronema canescens jack.) TERHADAP TIKUS JANTAN GALUR WISTAR
The sungkai leaf (Peronema canescens jack.) is known to contain flavonoid compounds with potential diuretic properties. This study aimed to evaluate the diuretic activity of ethanolic extract from sungkai leaves through preclinical tests on experimental animals divided into six treatment groups. These groups consisted of a normal control (aquadest), a negative control (NaCMC), a positive control (furosemide), and three treatment groups receiving extract doses of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kg BB. Observed parameters included urine volume and the levels of sodium (Na^+), potassium (K^+), and chloride(Cl^-) ions over 24 hours. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of sungkai leaves at all doses (100, 200, and 300 mg/kg BB) significantly increased urine volume and ion concentrations ( Na^+), (K^+) and (Cl^-) compared to the negative control group. The 300 mg/kg BW dose demonstrated the most significant effect in increasing urine volume, surpassing the positive control (furosemide). Based on dose-response analysis, the effective dose of the sungkai leaf ethanolic extract was determined to be 149,26 mg/kg BB. This study concludes that the ethanolic extract of sungkai leaves has potential as a natural diuretic agent. These findings contribute to the development of safe and effective phytopharmaceuticals while supporting the utilization of local biological resources for medical needs.
