ANALISIS PROSES GASIFIKASI TEMPURUNG KELAPA MENGGUNAKAN UPDRAFT GASIFIER DI AREA REDUKSI UNTUK PENCAIRAN ALUMINIUM DENGAN CARA DIHEMBUS
Along with the advanced era, the need for energy is also increasing, the continuous use of fossil fuels will result in the supply of fossil fuels being run out. For example, in the aluminum melting process still uses fossil fuels. Therefore, alternative energy sources are needed, one alternative that can be used is gasification of biomass. The biomass gasification process will produce a combustible gas product that can be burned directly for use in the aluminum melting process. This research will analyze the effect of flame temperature, analyze the effect of AFR on the flame, and obtain the time required for the aluminum melting process. The research will use an updraft gasifier with gas coming out of the reduction area and coconut shell as biomass used for the gasification process. From this study, the results of the average operating time from a total of three tests were 2 hours 12 minutes with an average flame of 1 hour 44 minutes. The study shows that the Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) on the burner affects the flame results, the greater the value of the Air Fuel Ratio (AFR), the stronger and more focused the flame will be. The maximum temperature of the gasification process is produced at a blower valve opening of 45° with an average temperature produced at the burner of 714°C and at the melting furnace of 789°C. The average time required to melt aluminum is 693 seconds or 11 minutes 33 seconds.
