The South Sumatra Health Office 2023 noted that the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in OKI Regency was 71.0%, this figure is still below the national coverage target of 80%. The purpose of this study was to determine the sources of support in exclusive breastfeeding. This study was conducted by analyzing secondary data in the form of an in-depth interview matrix from a thesis entitled “Maternal Behavior in Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Kutaraya Oki Health Cenoter Working Area in 2017” which used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data transcripts obtained consisted of an in-depth interview matrix involving 12 mothers who had babies 6-12 months as key informants and 11 expert key informants including the head of the puskesmas, the Nutrition program holder, 3 midwives, 6 posyandu cadres. The research data matrix was then analyzed using thematic analysis technique. The data validity test of the research results matrix used source triangulation and data triangulation methods. The results showed that most mothers breastfeed 4-6 times a day, far from the optimal recommendation. Working mothers faced limited lactation room facilities, while non-working mothers produced less breast milk. Conditions in mothers that hinder exclusive breastfeeding are the low knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding, as well as suggestions from families to give zam-zam water, coffee, and bananas. In addition, the lack of use of supporting media in counseling reduces the effectiveness of information delivery. To improve exclusive breastfeeding practices, there needs to be more intensive educational efforts and the use of varied media in socialization by health workers to breastfeeding mothers.
