This research analyzes the influence of social and economic indicators on unemployment in South Sumatra Province. This research uses secondary data in the form of Panel Data originating from the Central Statistics Agency for the 2015-2021 period. The analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysis techniques. The method used is the Random Effect Modal (REM) analysis method. The research results show that (a) the Human Development Index variable has a positive and significant effect on unemployment in South Sumatra Province. (b) The population variable has a positive and insignificant effect on unemployment in South Sumatra Province. (c) The Economic Growth variable has a negative and significant effect on unemployment in South Sumatra Province (d) The Provincial Minimum Wage variable has a negative and significant effect on unemployment in South Sumatra Province.
