The train was a special mode of public transport as well as the first in Indonesia . One of the pioneers of railways in Sumatra was West Sumatra, now named Regional Division II, which have interregional railway network , and its uniqueness on traek jagged. Since no longer funetioned as coal transport lines from Sawah Lunto to Teluk Bayur, it focusing on public transport modes . This station was the main station in the city of Padang , the station was planned to facilitate inter- regional intercity travel , while the funetion of the museum will facilitate visitors who wish to undertake educational tours so that people know the history of railways in Indonesia and West Sumatra. Station and Museum were the physical building of the planned Heritage concept with a modem look without compromising traditional architectural touches as national identity.
